Flat JT gravity and the BMS-Schwarzian

چکیده
We consider Minkowskian Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity in Bondi gauge at finite temperature, with non-zero vacuum energy. Its asymptotic symmetries span an extension of the warped Virasoro group, dubbed "BMS$_2$", which we investigate detail. In particular, show that this has a single coadjoint orbit when central charges are real and non-zero. The ensuing BMS-Schwarzian action no saddle points, only coincides boundary functional flat JT up to crucial dilatonic zero-mode ensures existence well-defined bulk variational principle. evaluate corresponding gravitational partition function, turns out be one-loop exact precisely thanks presence such zero-mode.

Flat-space chiral gravity.
We provide the first evidence for a holographic correspondence between a gravitational theory in flat space and a specific unitary field theory in one dimension lower. The gravitational theory is a flat-space limit of topologically massive gravity in three dimensions at a Chern-Simons level of k=1. The field theory is a chiral two-dimensional conformal field theory with a central charge of c=24.
متن کاملLoop Quantum Gravity and Asymptotically Flat Spaces
After motivating why the study of asymptotically flat spaces is important in loop quantum gravity, we review the extension of the standard framework of this theory to the asymptotically flat sector detailed in [1]. In particular, we provide a general procedure for constructing new Hilbert spaces for loop quantum gravity on non-compact spatial manifolds. States in these Hilbert spaces can be int...
متن کاملGravity on AdS3 and flat connections in the boundary CFT
We consider the CFT that arises from the D1-D5 system in the presence of a constant background gauge potential which couples to the R-charge of the theory: this potential effectively changes the periodicities of the fermions. By the AdS/CFT correspondence, the effect of this connnection should be obtained by finding a smooth solution to the vector field in AdS space which couples to the constan...
متن کاملII Gravity in Flat Extra Dimensions
The idea of using extra spatial dimensions to unify different forces started in 1914 with Nordstöm, who proposed a 5-dimensional vector theory to simultaneously describe elec-tromagnetism and a scalar version of gravity. After the invention of general relativity, in 1919 Kaluza noticed that the 5-dimensional generalization of Einstein theory can simultaneously describe gravitational and electro...
متن کاملLorentzian Worldlines and Schwarzian Derivative
The aim of this note is to relate the classical Schwarzian derivative and the geometry of Lorentz surfaces of constant curvature. 1. The starting point of our investigations lies in the following remark (joint work with L. Guieu). Consider a curve y = f(x) in the Lorentz plane with metric g = dxdy. If f (x) > 0, then its Lorentz curvature can be computed : ̺(x) = f (x) (f (x)) and enjoys the qui...
